NFL Career
After being drafted 199th overall by the New England Patriots in the 2000 NFL Draft, Brady’s ascent from a backup quarterback to a superstar was meteoric.
In his second season, he replaced an injured Drew Bledsoe and led the Patriots to their first Super Bowl victory in 2002. This marked the beginning of a dynasty, as Brady would go on to win 6 Super Bowl titles with the Patriots (2004, 2005, 2015, 2017, and 2019).
He was also named Super Bowl MVP five times (2002, 2004, 2015, 2017, and 2021) and won three NFL MVP awards (2007, 2010, and 2017).
After 20 seasons with the Patriots, Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. In his first season with the Buccaneers, he led the team to a Super Bowl victory in 2021, securing his 7th championship, which is more than any other NFL franchise owns.
Throughout his career, Brady has set numerous NFL records, including for pass completions, passing yards, and passing touchdowns. He finished his career with 89,214 passing yards and 649 touchdown passes.
Brady announced his retirement in early 2022 but returned for one more season with the Buccaneers before retiring “for good” in February 2023. His final season saw him continue to perform at a high level, leading the NFL with 4,694 passing yards and 25 touchdowns in 2022.
Brady’s career concluded with him being universally recognized as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, often referred to by the nickname “G.O.A.T.” (Greatest of All Time).
